In your area, does the public still buy meat despite the ban due to the outbreak of foot and mouth disease?

Background

Since June this year, a ban has been declared on the trading of goat and cow meat in the Teso region due to an outbreak of foot and mouth disease in Eastern Uganda. This ban includes the movement of animals and animal products from areas where the disease has been spotted, and the slaughter of animals for public use has been discontinued.

According to a district veterinary officer in a New Vision article published on August 24th, the ban could now be covering over 30 districts. However, in the same article, it is alleged that in some areas, people are buying and selling meat illegally, at the risk of arrest.
