Have you, or anyone you know, had their business affected by new road works, power lines and other government infrastructure?

BACKGROUND

In an article published in the New Vision on October 23rd 2014, it was reported that rehabilitation works on the Kibaale-Kiboga road have commenced as part of a government program to improve infrastructure and connect farmers to markets.

However, residents confessed they had blocked the extension of a power line from Nalweyo trading center to Bugangaizi East County because the government failed to compensate them.  Amos Katwesigye, a resident of Kyamajara village, said they blocked the engineers from destroying their crops and other properties during the construction of the hydro-power line.

Kibaale District Chairperson George William Namyaka castigated the residents for blocking government projects, saying there are better ways to address these issues than to use sabotage.
