Which area of service delivery should take priority in your district?
BACKGROUND
Service
delivery is important for the development of a nation. Citizens need
access to education, health, good roads, security, water, electricity
and other basic needs for a good life.
But
in Uganda, service delivery is in need of improvement. Last year, 30
schools in Kasese were shut down for having poor
classrooms and latrines, and putting the lives of teachers and
students in danger. Uganda's national referral hospital-Mulago
hospital-had its water supply cut off due to unpaid bills. Power
blackouts are common, as are poor roads and other infrastructure.
So
in your region, you may find that you have access to some services
but lack access to others. You
may
have access to water, but lack regular electricity or law
enforcement.
