How best can you rate your child’s accessibility to safe clean water at school?

Back Ground

According to the World Health Organization, billions of people worldwide lack access to improved sanitation and water resources. 80% of these are in rural communities.

A UK study identified four categories of diseases caused by poor water sanitation: water-borne disease like typhoid; water-washed diseases like trachoma; water-based diseases like bilharzias and water-related diseases like malaria, caused by insect vectors that breed or feed near water.

It is important that school children have access to safe and secure water to wash their hands after visiting the latrines, before and after food, and for general good hygiene.
