According to a story published in the Daily Monitor on March 6th 2015, a 38 year old man in Gulu committed suicide after suffering alleged domestic violence. His wife was quarrelsome and physically abused him.
Reports of domestic violence often focus on women but men too suffer this abuse. According to police report, in 2013, 1,993 male adults and 342 male juveniles were victims of domestic violence. The report also documented that 147 male adults and 36 male juveniles died as a result of aggravated domestic violence.
