In the last couple of months, several large companies such as Africell and MTN
have drawn criticism for laying off Ugandan employees in favor of foreign
workers. Meanwhile, the government has proposed new legislation making it
harder for foreigners to work in Uganda. For example, foreign contractors who
want to take up the construction of infrastructure in Uganda will be
required to pass the English test before they can be given the contract. Do you
