Background:
In a few months you will have the chance to vote, and we want to know what issues matter to you in these elections. That is why we are working together with 10 other radio stations throughout Uganda. With 77% of its population under the age of 30 years, Uganda has the youngest population in the world. This group faces a large number of challenges. More than half the youth is unemployed. 57% doesn’t finish primary education and young people are disproportionately affected by HIV/Aids. Despite their large numbers, young Ugandans lack opportunity engage in political processes. The National Youth Manifesto for 2016-2021 makes several recommendations on how young people can be supported.
