HITS CM2 1.6 | What is the biggest barrier to accessing justice on land matters in your community?

Background:

Land disputes in Uganda can be resolved by a number of courts right from the Magistrate Courts, up to the Supreme Court. For a number of reasons including inaccessibility, these courts have not been the first choice for the majority of people. Lower level institutions such as Local Council Courts and traditional institutions such as clan meetings often serve as a more convenient alternative for people's land dispute resolution needs.

Question:
What is the biggest barrier to accessing justice on land matters in your community?

A. Legal services are too expensive
B. Dispute resolution institutions are corrupt, unresponsive or inaccessible
C. Limited knowledge amongst the population on their land rights
D. There is fear to challenge those who try to acquire land
