Background

Literacy is an important aspect of life because it impacts on how we communicate and interact with others. A report by Uganda Bureau of Statistics shows that 5 out of every 10 people with disabilities are illiterate compared to only 3 people out 10 people without disabilities. Parents play a very important role in determining whether a child with disability goes to school or not.

What should be done to encourage parents to take children with disabilities to school?
