BACKGROUND:
Uganda’s health sector is the most corrupt in the East African region, a report released by the Inspectorate of Government (IGG) has said.

A recent report by Transparency International shows that Uganda is one of the 46 most corrupt countries in the world.

The report, released to mark the International Anti-Corruption Day, said the sector is fraught with bribery and absenteeism, effectively undermining the population’s health and realisation of the Millennium Development Goals.(New Vision 12th Dec 2012)

The health sector in Uganda is also filled with lack of professionalism, stealing of drugs and other medical supplies.
