BACKGROUND:
Investigations in the death of Hon. Cerinah Nebanda are still on going. However, a number of events have unfolded following her sudden death.

A number of MPS were arrested over the critical comments they made on the death of Cerinah Nebanda.

A petition endorsed by 129 MPs was taken to parliament by a group of petitioners to enable parliament to be recalled from the recess and discuss the unlawful arrest of MPs over the mysterious death of the 24 year old lawmaker Cerinah Nebanda.

Some of the top NRM officials launched a campaign to discourage legislators from signing a petition to recall the House from recess.
