Should the anti-corruption court consider giving bail to officials that swindle public funds?
BACKGROUND:
Corruption and embezzlement of public funds has increased spontaneously over the past few years. Billions of donor funds and tax payer's money has been used by top government officials to their own benefit instead of benefiting the community.
The anti-corruption court was formed to investigate, try and prosecute those government officials who are found guilty for embezzling public funds.
However, by law all convicts have a right to apply for bail. The decision on whether bail should be granted to a convict is made by the jury.
