BACKGROUND
Kasese Guide Radio is today running a debate on the proposal for the split of Nyakiyumbu sub-county into three. The residents of Muhindi parish in the hilly areas and those of Katholhu, Kayanzi and Bukangara parishes in the lower lands are calling for the split of Nyakiyumbu sub-county in the name of services being far from them.

They want the sub-county to be split so that they are able to receive health services, education services and infrastructure near them. Their proposal comes at a time when the sub-county council had also resolved on split but councilors wanted only one new sub-county.
