How do you rate the quality of skills acquired by students of Vocational Institutions in your area?

BACKGROUND:
In our poll question last week we asked what you would choose for child between University and Vocational studies considering the rate of unemployment in Uganda.
The results were really interesting.
83% said that they would choose Vocational training while,
14% said that a University degree would be a must for their children.

According to a Daily Monitor article, A new report has shown that Uganda’s business, vocational and technical education is lacking, something that is greatly impacting the job market.

The report released by Council for African Policy, shows that Uganda’s vocational institutes are underfunded, understaffed and poorly equipped.
“This has a bearing on the quality of skills offered as well as the public image of these institutions,” the report released yesterday shows.
The study conducted in four districts of Soroti, Ngora, Bukedea and Katakwi aimed at establishing the current state of the education system at various levels and their contribution to the national economic growth and development.
