BACKGROUND:
President Yoweri Museveni has directed Cabinet to dissolve the infamous National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) project due to its poor performance and that the funds which were hitherto allocated to the project be utilized to enhance agro based production.

“I have directed Cabinet to dissolve NAADS. This is due to the mismanagement of funds in the project. The veterans’ project led by the UPDF officers has demonstrated exceptional delivery of services to the intended beneficiaries which is contrary to the fleecing practice of NAADs officials,” Mr. Museveni said.

The president’s directive comes in the wake of public debate and criticism of the performance of the over a decade old project.

President Museveni commended the UPDF officers for their exemplary work within the veterans’ project and assured the gathering that the shortcomings would be addressed.
