A recent poll conducted by TRAC FM as a part of the WASH and Learn campaign in Uganda sheds light on the pressing need to improve hygiene practices in the country. With the majority of respondents choosing cleaning sanitation facilities as the best kind of training to improve hygiene in the household, it is clear that there is a need for behavior change and training in this area.
Poor sanitation and hygiene practices are major public health issues in Uganda, with high rates of waterborne diseases and other illnesses. To improve health outcomes and reduce the burden of disease, it is essential to promote good hygiene practices such as handwashing, safe disposal of waste, and proper cleaning of sanitation facilities. This requires a comprehensive approach that involves education, training, and behavioral change campaigns. The results of the TRAC FM poll highlight the need for a sustained effort to improve hygiene practices in Uganda. This includes providing access to clean water and sanitation facilities, promoting good hygiene practices, and ensuring that people have the knowledge and skills needed to maintain good hygiene. By prioritizing hygiene education and training, Uganda can make significant progress in improving public health and reducing the burden of disease in the country.
