TRAC FM was proud to support the VOICES Project, initiated by HEPS-Uganda and backed by the Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI). This project aimed to enhance civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS) services in Uganda, focusing on improving the registration of citizens and alien identification while strengthening legal identity systems.

The VOICES Project actively engaged CRVS stakeholders and the public to implement strategies that promoted access to essential registration services across the nation. With the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) overseeing CRVS services, the project addressed significant challenges, including insufficient manpower, logistical constraints, and outdated technology.

Key Objectives Achieved:

  1. Elevated CRVS on the political agenda at both national and sub-national levels.
  2. Secured increased funding for CRVS initiatives through NIRA and other relevant government agencies.
  3. Mobilized stakeholders to enhance CRVS service delivery across Uganda.

  10. Reviewed opinion poll questions developed by the HEPS communication team.

  1. Two poll questions were distributed across three stations (Radio Simba, Radio Wa, and Hits FM).
  2. A total of 6,000 respondents participated in the polls.
  3. Two talk shows aired per radio station, with HEPS inviting guests and providing facilitation.
  4. A telephone survey was conducted among 250 respondents consisting of three closed questions.
